To the Cloud Room

Ryan came out of Mouse's room feeling homesick for his kids and house in the woods. He headed to the Cloud Room. During the day he had retrieved his duffel bag from the room downstairs and brought it to the room. He pulled out his black tank top and changed into it for the night. He sorted through what else he had thrown into the bag. Not much to unpack...

He slowly sat down on the bed as he pulled out a blue, white, and yellow jersey shirt with a "G" type of symbol on the front and a stick man on each arm. The shirt he'd been wearing when the Chosen invaded, when they'd kept him and the MallRats as slaves. The shirt he'd worked the mines in, and helped the kids find their families in.

He closed his eyes thinking of those times. After escaping the mines, the band that had kept growing in size as they destroyed the Chosen mines and camps. Just a bit like Robin Hood and his merry band he supposed. It still brought a smile to his face remembering the joy on the faces of those that were reunited. But there had been sorrow too, those who didn't find who they had been looking for, and those who found out there was no-one to find. His hands tightened on the shirt.

He opened his eyes, staring at the front. It was from that "G" symbol that the kids had made their tribal marking from. Kerry had been the first to use it. Then as days went by the others began to wear it on their cheeks. When he'd asked why the reply had seemed overly simple to the kids. 'Everyone has a Tribe they belong to, and tribal markings to wear. This is our Tribe.' Salene had been right at lunch. He had become a Tribal Leader, even if he had never aspired to it or intended it.
