After Mouse had left Siva/Lex's room she really had no where to go. She didn't want to go back to her room. Didn't want to talk to Sammy. Had to let Salene rest. Bah. What to do ( Read more... )

She began to swing her arm that he was holding the hand on. "No, I haven't. We haven't had time to do many ceremonies. I think it's like reuniting the Mallrats. Which is something we need I think. So many have returned that I don't even know!" Mouse skipped over a piece of rubble. "Our Tribe is getting so big and we're still missing some people." She shook her head.

Dax nodded knowingly, part of his brainwashing had not only taught him the layout of the Mall, but had kept him informed of former and present Mallrats, and yet there were still some he didn't know, like that Ryan guy. Why had he been left out of it? Who was he? Dax knew that Patsy, another Mallrat he didn't know, had called him Salene's husband, but if that was true, why were they fighting and why hadn't Dax learned about him? It was confusing, but he was willing to learn what he could when he could. "It sounds really nice, I would like to watch that, I hope Salene and I get to have our talk today so I can ease her fears," Dax smiled down warily and let her swing his hand around. "Your Tribe is big, is there even enough room in the Mall for more? Looks pretty full to me!"

Mouse shrugged or tried. "I don't know. I'm sure we'll find room somewhere. But just think of all the food we'll need! As long as there's someone for me to play with and I don't get yelled at alot I'm happy. Oh! And I'm learning to read! Do you read?" Mouse had a habit of asking everyone this question. "What fears would Salene have?" She suddenly asked.

Dax chuckled and shrugged, "Yeah I can read, haven't in a long time, don't get a lot of chances to find books to read anymore," he said with a shrug, he wasn't one to read books really, though he could if someone asked him to. "That is a lot of food. Does Salene always cook? Or is there someone else in the Mall I can help cook while she gets better?" Dax was going to avoid Salene's fears for now, he didn't know how much Mouse knew about Salene and the Chosen and what that meant exactly, and he didn't want to scare Mouse, as far as Dax was concerned he was done with the Chosen forever, he'd never let anyone tell him Zoot was the word again, and as long as they'd let him, he'd protect the Mallrats and their ways ( ... )

Mouse felt herself get whipped up into the air as a large group of kids came running down the street. Last time this had happened she had been with May and then...She fought back the thoughts. They had to do something about this fighting! But what did someone say? The Mallrats were to blame? For what?

"We didn't do anything!" She couldn't help but say even knowing no one but Dax would hear her since they were out of the main area now. "What were they saying, Dax? None of the Mallrats are playing the game." Atleast she hoped not. She worried about May and what had Sammy been up to?

Dax didn't know what to tell her, the Mallrats playing the game? For real? He didn't know a lot about the game, other than some of the Mallrats had played it in the past, but from what he remembered before the Chosen got ahold of him was that Salene and the Mallrats were vehemently against the game, in any form! How could they be the ones bringing it back to the streets? That didn't even make sense! Dax paused in the alley, lifting Mouse down from his shoulders, they were now on a longer detour to the Mall, but he didn't feel right leaving her up there, and they had to be safe now ( ... )
