Moon: Out to the Small Balcony

Jul 31, 2004 18:15

Moon left the Hen Party and made a beeline for the small balcony. As she walked briskly away from the party room, she felt relieved as the party sounds became steadily fainter. Reaching the door to the balcony and pushing it open, Moon sighed as she felt the cool night air hit her skin, and she stepped out into the dark. Leaning against the wall ( Read more... )

As Danni approached the balcony she saw Moon staring almost wistfully at the baskets where they had planted all of Danni's seeds earlier. She seemed a bit more relaxed out here, maybe it had been all the noise of the party that had gotten to her. Tai San's dare had been pretty wild, and while Danni hadn't been so bothered by it, she could see maybe why someone would be ( ... )

Moon had let her mind float so much that she didn't even notice someone approaching. She had a little internal jump at the sound of a voice, but quickly recognised it as Danni's. She turned, a small concerned expression crossing her features as Danni gave her a glass of juice ( ... )

Danni listened carefully to Moon's story of how she came to be at the Mall. She thought back to her own meeting of Bray, and how he had brought her out of her hiding hole and introduced her to the Mall Rats. Danni would be eternally grateful to him for doing so. Her life certainly hadn't been plain sailing since leaving her sanctuary, but she would never regret it. She would never have had half the experiences she had, and she would never have made friends with the people she now cared about. Not to mention the fact that she would never have met Moon. Somehow Bray had brought Moon and Danni to the same place without any intent on doing so, and now.... amd now what? Danni had no idea what tangent her mind was going off on.

"The party's alright I guess, a little raucous and loud when you've been up since dawn." Danni said, yawning slightly as she thought about how tired she actually was, which then broke into a smile. "I'm glad I went though. You?"

"Well, yes, it was a little loud," admitted Moon, "but it's interesting... different. I've never been to a Hen party before," she said evasively. She looked at Danni - whose cheerful smile appeared so earnest - and to her surprise, Moon felt that she wanted to confide in her a little more ( ... )

As Danni felt Moon kissing her back, she could barely believe it. So maybe Moon did understand, maybe she knew what was going through Danni's mind, maybe she was even thinking along the same lines. Danni tried to quieten the questions her mind was posing and attempted to focus on the most important thing right now, that being that she was kissing Moon, and Moon was definately kissing her back.

Danni wanted to feel closer to Moon, in fact needed to. Still caressing Moon's cheek, she moved her other arm so that it was around Moon with her hand against the small of Moon's back. Danni gently pulled Moon closer, never wanting to break this kiss, never wanting this moment to end. She didn't dare open her eyes for fear of what she might see, she simply knew that this kiss was amazing and she didn't need to know or to see anything else. Danni had never felt so completely lost when kissing anyone before, and the feeling completely spun her head and made her feel like her feet were floating above the floor.

Moon felt like she might explode, such a fierce sensation was growing in her chest, to the point where it almost physically hurt. This unbelievable kiss, so intense, seemed to be the only thing keeping her alive at this moment, and she moved her hand from Danni's arm to cradle the back of the girl's neck, pulling her closer, clinging on as if her life depended on it.

At the same time, Moon felt Danni's warm hand at her back, the muscles there twitching involuntarily at the contact. It made her jump a little, and as she did, her fingers released their hold on the forgotten glass that still contained some juice. It fell to the balcony with a loud clunk! - thankfully not breaking - and rolled over the ground a little. The sound served to wrench Moon out of her incredible reverie, and suddenly her brain was back.

What are you doing?! asked Moon's conscience again, and in that moment it suddenly became clear what she was doing. Kissing Danni. Danni who was a girl. Moon staggered backwards, breaking the kiss, gaping wide-eyed and with ( ... )

"Wait Moon! I..." But it was too late, Moon had gone and Danni felt like she had never been so low down. She shouldn't have done it, she should have never have kissed Moon. What was she thinking? She had forced herself on someone who clearly didn't have feelings for her, made even worse by the fact that this person was a girl, which confused the hell out of Danni as it was, never mind how baffled Moon muct have been by the whole thing. Danni slammed her hand down on the blacony rail in frustration at possibly having ruined a fantastic friendship for the sake of Danni's confusion and curiosity. Why had she been so foolish ( ... )
