Despite having been up late, Jay was wide awake at the first sound of movement downstairs; he'd spent three years being constantly prepared for a security breach with the Technos, and old habits died hard. He was still for a moment, instinctively listening to the quiet voices outside. It was just the Mall kids, he realized, recognizing little Mouse ( Read more... )

The sound of voices pulled at the edges of a pleasant dream as a small smile still played on Ebony's lips. She stirred slightly, trying to stay in the warm hazy comfort of bed and sleep as the voices seemed to grow in volume. Jay's warm arm lay snuggly around her midsection, and Ebony curled into the contact, her eyes still shut. Conscious thought hadn't yet fully returned to her as the voices drifted into the room, and Ebony was content to let them wash over her while she let her dream continue to play out. It was too early to be up. The day before had been a long one, and Ebony hadn't fallen asleep until well into the night. The thought of delaying the new day was extremely appealing, and one she was more than happy to go with it. Just a few more hours... It was then that the loud blast of music echoed through the halls and seemed to reverberate off the walls of the room itself. Seconds later Ebony was fully awake, all remnants of her dream gone without any hope of retrieval. Slowly opening her eyes, Ebony laid still for a few moments in irritation. This was not her idea of a nice way to start the morning.

At the feel of Jay's arm tightening around her, the memories of their late night activities together resurfaced. The edge of her irritation lifted somewhat at the recollection. She could have done without the morning wake up call, but she was also nestled in close to the man she loved, wrapped only in blankets and each other. There were certainly much worse ways to greet the day. Turning her head toward Jay with a warm bemused smile on her face, Ebony said "We might want to think about throwing on some clothes before someone comes looking for us," her voice holding only a mildly note of lingering irritation. "Of course, we probably still have a little time left," she finished with a mischievous grin, letting her arm slide around him suggestively.

"Tempting," Jay told her, pulling Ebony closer to him and gently kissing the side of her neck. She had been incredible the night before, he remembered, as a smile slipped across his features; Ebony was by far the most creative and skillful lover he had ever taken, and his time with her was always mind-numbingly pleasant. He held her to him for a moment, enjoying the warmth of her body against his, before his mind pushed thoughts of the night before aside and resumed its consideration of the current day's agenda. Morning brought with it a number of responsibilities that could not be ignored, and, as tempting as it was to lie beside Ebony, and perhaps even take her up on her hinted offer, there was work to be done. Sighing slightly and giving his girl a somewhat apologetic smile, Jay reluctantly pulled himself away from her and out of bed, picking up his boxers and clothing from the floor and redressing. It would have been strange to be naked in broad daylight in front of any other woman, but with Ebony, Jay found that it no longer bothered him; they knew each other well enough that feigning modesty with one another would be pointless. When he was fully dressed, Jay picked up the necklace his lover had given him, re-fastened it, and then sat down beside her on the bed. "Don't suppose you'd be interested in some breakfast?"

As Jay pulled away to get dressed, Ebony leaned back as she pulled the sheets around her. Jay's back was turned to her as he put on his clothes, and Ebony took the opportunity to take in the show. Her mouth curled up into a devious smile as she shamelessly watched as he pulled on his boxers. There was something about seeing your lover naked during the day that was distinctly different than at night. It somehow seemed more forbidden. The sight of Jay putting back on the necklace brought a feeling of warmth to her heart, and Ebony glanced away for the first time as she tried to hide the affectionate smile that refused to be suppressed. The weight displacement on the bed changed, and Ebony looked over to Jay who was now sitting beside her as she held the sheets around herself. "Breakfast sounds lovely," Ebony responded with a half grin, "but eh...I suppose I'll have to throw something on first." Still partially wrapped in the sheet, Ebony stood up at the foot of the bed and met Jay's eyes. "Can't a girl have a little privacy?" She said, her voice holding a serious note that was utterly betrayed by the sparkle in her eye. It didn't take long before she had gathered up her clothes, dressed, and retouched her makeup. Jay of course had been a total gentleman, and his back had remained turned as she quickly pulled herself together. Coming up behind him, Ebony put her arms around his neck and placed a playful kiss on his cheek. "Lets go get some breakfast. Food doesn't stay long around here and uh, I tend to get cranky when I'm hungry." With that, Ebony walked over to the door making sure Jay was right behind her, and the two headed over to the cafe.
