Thankful

*I just woke up after a nap, but i just had to tell you that after days of wandering around, with barely anything to eat, Ive finally reached the city. In fact Im just outside the market. Im so excited. I cant wait to see everyone. To get back to the mall, to see my room again. To see Jack... That would be the best. Seeing Jack again. I cant wait!!

'I say "Coming?" and Pride takes off like there's no tomorrow.' May thought as she continued on her path towards the Mall. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a girl with long blonde hair with coloured streaks in it. 'Wait a minute...isn't that...' It was Ellie. 'I haven't seen her since the Technos swiped us all.' She wasn't sure Ellie would be very glad to see her, though in all fairness the two had rarely ever spoken to each other even when they had all lived together at the Mall. But since they both seemed headed for the same destination anyway...

"Hey, Ellie." she greeted the other girl with a smile. "You've made it back too I see."

"OH MY GOSH!! May Im so happy to see you! Your headed for the mall right!? I cant believe Im back. Ive got so much to tell you! How is everyone? whos at the mall now? is Jack there?" Ellie gasped. She had actually gotten all that out in one breath. But now she was trembling with excitement, she was so happy to see a friend. She had never been particularly close but she was just thankful to see a fellow mallrat.

"Whoa, girl, slow down." To actually have received such an enthusiastic greeting was something new to her. But it was a pleasant surprise. "I haven't actually been back to the mall yet so I don't know everyone who's there, but I've seen Pride, Lex, Mouse, and Cloe. Apparently Salene and Amber are there too because they just finished voting for a new City Leader and the two of them were on the ballot." Her smile broadened. "I guess we won't know the whole story till we reach the mall, but it looks like the MallRats are all getting back now. Who knows who we'll find tomorrow."
She gestured to the path ahead. "Come on, I'll fill you in on what's been going on here and you can tell me what's all happened to you."

"Oh, so you dont know if Jack is back." Ellie replied. Trying to hide her disappointment, she continued "So Salene and Amber running for leader. I wonder who won? But your right, we should start heading to the mall now. Well talk on the way." She nodded her head towards the path "You first."

Heading towards the Mall

"I'm afraid not no. I haven't seen Jack." She walked beside her. "Look out!" She pulled Ellie to one side as a group of kids wearing coloured bandanas ran past them. "They're really active today, wonder what's up?" She muttered under her breath. "Those are kids who were part of The Game." She explained as they continued on. "It was a Virtual Reality Game the Technos set up. Reds versus Blues for the prize. Over half the city got hooked on it. Unfortunately it spilled over into True Reality and caused a real mess. They even kept trashing the hospital, though it was the only place they could get their wounds taken care of after they tried to take each other apart." She nodded ahead as the Mall came in to view. "Alot of people are going to be happy to see you. Best save your story for when we get inside. Or you'll be repeating it all over again for them."

"Oh wow, seems like the technos made a pretty big impression on the city. Did anyone in the mall get hooked?" Ellie inquired, "I doubt that Mallrats would but the technos made us do crazy things. I dont understand how the kids could become so destructive, though. It doesnt make sense. But i guess that was the technos plan, to split us up and take it from there...divide and conquer...seems like it almost worked." Ellie let out a sigh of both relief and dispair. "I kind of figured they were weakening when the security started getting lighter and lighter. But your right, i should save my story for everyone at the mall." Ellie looked in the direction May had nodded. "Its the mall! I didnt realize it was so close." Ellie said excitedly. She paused for a moment, and looked down while she debated something inher head for a moment. When she reached her choice, she turned to may again and said "I hate to ask this, but if your not tired, do you mind if we hurry up? Its just that i cant wait to get home."
