Since they both obviously have an unresolved past, it makes me wonder what happened - something so heinous that they lost touch for over seven years (not to mention losing touch with Harry). So many unanswered questions, but otherwise a very nice snapshot into a painful history.

I have many idea what might cause them to lose contact for that much time; to me, it was more interesting to investigate their reconnecting than whatever made them disconnect.

There really are a lot of unanswered questions! I'm curious as to what lead Ron and Harry and Hermione to not speak for years, though the end leaves me hopeful that Ron and Hermione at least can repair their friendship.

Fireman Ron was a perfect career choice for him. I could definitely see him as a fireman if he were a Muggle.

I love the idea of Ron growing up to do slightly risky, very demanding, and very service-oriented work, and the prompt fit well with that idea.
