whatcha gon' do with all that junk all that junk inside your trunk

Mar 18, 2006 02:38

i do, indeed, have a lot of junk inside my trunk right now, because I moved everything that was in my car into the trunk of my car. Air fresheners, CDs, hand-knitted warm stuff etc.

I am suppposed to be selling my Echo in a couple days in order to get a Scion xA, the car I really wanted when I bought the one I have, but that isn't working out so well.

(on top of all this, I am really sick. I am extremely sore and I am about 80% sure I am running a fever.)

I'm really frustrated, so I've decided to vent.

About two weeks ago, I went to the Toyota dealership near my work and look at the cars on their lot, and was told my a sales person that one like I wanted (dark grey, automatic, no other options other than upgraded stereo) would be coming in between the 10th and the 16th.

I use the weekend of the 8th and 9th to shop around and go to two other dealerships, one of which on Colerain avenue told me that they could get one in a couple days for me if I wanted. I decided at the time that the one near work was more of a "sure thing" so I kind of told them to wait and see.

I call the Kentucky dealership on the 10th. Car is not there. Car shows in their inventory system as being there, in fact. They tell me they will call me when it arrives.

March 13th: I haven't heard anything, dealership still insists car shows in their inventory system that the car is "actually here" but hasn't arrived on the truck. They tell me once again, that they will keep in touch.

March 14th: I make a really stupid decision and sign a buyer's order to get the car because my credit union who I have decided to finance through requires it for processing. They try to dick me over on the trade in: meanwhile, my dad decides to buy the car from me so I don't have to accept their crap offer, which wasn't necessarily so bad but on principle, they could have done better. I offer to give them a deposit, they decline and instead say that my buyer's order is sufficient to hold the car.

March 16th: The deadline they gave me has officially expired.

March 17th: I call and ask where my car is. One of the SALES MANAGERS says he knows there is a truck out back and he will go back and check and call me in ten minutes. Three hours go buy and i hear nothing. I go to the dealership in person, they act as though I am inconveniencing them, do not apologize, say they will call me that evening and let me know if the car is there. They do not call. I call them and they say that it is "probably going to come tomorrow." I am also told that Toyota's drivers are on strike, which to me seems like a load of crap. If this were the case, why was I not told this a couple of days ago? Why are you people so complacent about "courting" my business? Do you think I don't matter?

This is the only dealership that I feel that I have been screwed over for being a single woman buying the cheapest car they sell. No one else treated me that way. I feel as though I am not being taken seriously.

So that brings us to 2:48 AM, where I am sick and have plenty of time to think because I can't sleep, and I am PISSED OFF. In 7 hours, I have an appointment to close on a loan to pay for a car that may not exist. They are going to get bitched at in the morning if that car is not there. I will withdraw my offer, take my business elsewhere, and if they try anything at all, I will go to the better business bureau and file a complaint with Toyota so quickly it will make their head spin. I feel like they have been lying to me. I don't believe anything that they are saying about the status of the car and that they are just trying to string me along. If the drivers are truly on strike, then why was I not offered the chance to do a dealer-to-dealer transfer on the car a few days ago? Why are you not offering me alternatives, why are you not more apologetic?

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed right now. I am so stressed out right now about this and everything else that I am about to explode and I feel at this point that if these jerks are on the receiving end of my wrath in the morning, then so be it.
