Did you ants have a good romantic and sappy holiday?

That was your idea of a holiday?

Wasn't it yours?

No, it was not.

What was wrong with it?

I did not appreciate being reminded of who I have lost by being here.

Urgh. Whinge, whinge, whinge. I could just erase those memories if you're going to bore me and not appreciate my gifts, Armand.

Please don't, I beg you. The cake tasted good, but... I miss him.

You do know that you're not the only one who lost a family, had their lives disrupted, and were taken from all they know, right?

I know, but my connections here are not terribly strong yet. The name--it wasn't anyone here.

Why do people keep asking me that? Just because my pain is not unique doesn't make it any less painful?

Neither was Ken's, D's, and a few others'.

How long have you been here, Armand?

Too long not to have accepted my fate. I'm stubborn, I suppose.

I'll tell you how long! Six months tomorrow! You've been sulking about for six months. Is that all there is to you?

Woe, woe, I miss my family. So does Eddard, so does Chris Refield, so does Elena, do does Dean, so does everyone else. Think you're the only one who left a kid behind? So did Barret and... uhh... I'm sure other people did too. I'm not big on the rugrats.

You're not as good looking as Cloud Strife to have people willing to put up with the buckets of angst. Trust me, he's worse than you are. Vincent Valentine outdoes you all.

Maybe I could convince Ihy that it would be 'good' for all of you to forget the things that make you woe.

Please don't do that! I've lost my memories before, and it was horrid. I held my son in my arms and didn't know who he was.

In times past, before my marriage and the traumas that led to it, I was more light-hearted, but far more irresponsible. I'm trying to be responsible, and helpful. And failing apparently at both or at least my contributions aren't useful enough to balance out my feelings. Would you rather I played tag in the streets like a child? That wasn't so long ago for me.

Is there something else I could do? I don't know how to start over. Again.

I'm an evil god. The more miserable you are, the happier I am. Your happiness doesn't mean squat to me, ant. It's all about me.

Maybe people just don't know how to deal with a man who expects them to drag him out of his shell versus him motivating his own arse.

Have I gotten that bad?

Uh.

I don't know. I was just trying to make you cry. Did it work?
