Phonebooth

Aug 12, 2009 20:31

As the sun rose upon World's End, it bathed the land in an orange glow, encompassing all and sparing none in its wake. It was warm and muggy and the whispers from the night of the full moon, the night of the Tower, hadn't seem to have gone away. Still, the day was bright and the light beckoned all to go outside. By midday, clouds had begun to roll on, cloaking the sun and turning the sky a distant gray.

Ring.

In the square, a telephone booth began to ring. The steel around it seemed old and rusted in some places, the windows dirty and stained in some places. There was only a simple old phone inside, no phonebook, and no extra numbers.

Ring, ring, ring.

The sound grew louder, echoing around the square and urging any and all who came across it to answer. And if not...

Ring, ring, ring.

...someone would have to answer it eventually.

[Anyone can answer the phone at any point throughout the day. Be warned, responses are unrated and anyone might be responding to your character. Have fun.]

event: telephone, telephone booth
