Look, I'm Stedman.
I was standing in line at the store a few days ago (don't remember where, but it isn't pertinent anyway) and noticed that one of the two kids of the woman in front of me in line had some sort of device on his ear.
I figured the kid was playing Secret Service Agent, or had recently seen one of the Terminator movies and wanted to be a cyborg, or something. So I asked his mother- "What is that thing on his head?"
Turns out it was some sort of high-end hearing implant. She didn't seem the least bit offended, (and the kid was too young to be) but I felt stupid anyway. More than most, I'd imagine- I get so fucking sick of explaining to people in public places why I'm twitching or why I can't stop making that annoying noise, and here I am sticking my nose where it doesn't belong and pulling the exact same ignorant shit. Yay, I'm a big fat hypocrite.
I felt like such a tool, heh...
