For whatever reason sourdough bread hasn't caught on in the midwest. You can't find it in a normal grocery store - there's tons of French but no sourdough.

Yesterday at Costco, I found Boudin Bakery sourdough. It tastes like heaven.

Can you find cilantro there? I heard that was pretty difficult to find.

That's a little easier. Because of the large farming communities, in Minneapolis at least, there's a HUGE Latin population. So if I go to a mercado, it's easy to find. Harder to find in a "normal" grocery store, but do-able.

Minneapolis is better than Madison in this way - there's also real Mexican food here, you just have to be willing to go to the "mexican" part of town.

The sourdough you just can't find anywhere, though. I'm in the Minneapolis livejournal community and there are somewhat regular discussions among California expats about where to find the best "real" sourdough. I guess the problem is the humidity here - the climate is too different from San Francisco to produce it without using vinegar to sour the dough.
