DO NOT UNDERSTAND
The heat is ostensibly on in my apartment, except that the radiators are COLD TO THE TOUCH.
I cranked up the thermostat (admittedly a little too high) over the weekend and was actually warm at home for a while. Then the neighbors complained that their apartments were too hot and a guy came by and made us turn it back down and told us not to touch the thermostat.
And now it's fucking cold. Ostensibly the thermostat is set to 68, but in pants, a sweater, and a blanket, I still feel cold - and my nose is always cold now. I don't think the heating system is functioning properly if it can get to 22 outside overnight and the radiators DONT KICK IN. Come on people, I'm freezing here!
So I'm going to steal a thermometer from work today (well, borrow - it can go back tomorrow), take the temperature in here, and write my landlord a pointed email.
In other news, I signed up for a kickboxing class. I went to one free one and it was a lot of fun. Beating things is surprisingly theraputic, and the workout was great. Not hideous though - I can still move today. A lot of pilates and cardio.
