Grand Haven YMCA Triathlon
Quick update on how i did at the triathlon today... but first... i want to congradulate my sister for another awesome finish... 5th overall female in the sprint distance. Man... she is good... and this is only her second one!
The water was a numbing 59 degrees. It was so cold, it hurt my face to have it in the water... but i toughed it out... it also made it hard to breath because it was so shocking. The swim was 1000 meters and then we had a 800 meter run to the transition area.
I got to my bike and was still disallusioned from the cold water and had a hard time getting on my bike... and actually fell with one shoe clipped in... talk about embarrassing. I ended up pacing about 22 mph for 25 miles biking.
The run was really hot... entirely in the sun the whole 10K. I passed some more people here and at the finish passed a guy with about 15 yards left to go... HA! My finishing time was two hours, 17 minutes. We then hung around for awards and prizes in the hot sun. That took 2 hours to finish... it seems to me that there could be a faster way to get those things done... hmmmm...
Anyways... i just watched 'the wedding planner' with Katie. Surprisingly it was actually pretty good. There is this one part i found especially funny with Mary (played by Jay-Lo) and Steven are having a romantic/serious conversation and... well... why don't i just have Katie tell you! lol!
