My favorite biology TV drama: "ReGenesis"
My favorite biology TV drama is "ReGenesis." It ran for 4 seasons on Canadian TV. It's about a team of brilliant biologists who deal with epidemics, bioterrorism, retroviruses, myterious diseases, cloning---you name it. Both the acting and writing are brilliant. It covers real issues and gives the scientists real lives and flaws. The lead scientist, for example, starts off as a selfish asshole who gradually shows more humanity and compassion as the series continues.
It's the only drama I've ever seen that really uses the biology terms I have discussed in my class or have heard at scientific meetings. Very cutting edge. It's never science fantasy. Much of what happens on it seems like it could really happen in the near future.
