really, kathleen? i'm surprised that the birmingham news carried your opinion. there is a big difference between a well articulated thought and reaching for something to write.
i was very impressed by obama's response to rev. jeremiah's comments. it was an appeal to discourse, something we have a regretful aversion to in america. it hasn't always been that way, but unfortunately it's gotten worse the more polarized we've become. obama didn't demonize rev. jeremiah or white americans or black americans. it was an even handed approach and response to an issue.
