well, it has been a good, impressive run for ron paul, but he's sort of up a creek at this point. 10%? i'll admit that the iowa caucus is no determinant of the party's nominee, but i believe that the republican party made a strong statement as to where they're loyalties lie yesterday.

evangelicals.

like we didn't know this already, but some of us were holding out hope for a fairytale where ron paul wears a red dress and makes it to his grandmother's in the woods without being devoured by the wolf. ron paul is the only person on the republican ticket who i would even remotely consider voting for.

like i said, he's not dead yet, but he's limping pretty baddly.

as for huckabee, well i'm not down with the baptist school of thought, nor am i down with the group of people currently thought of as "evangelicals", but just keep beating romney. no mormons, please.

hillary....i've never liked her. really, not once have i thought about hillary clinton and said to myself, "man, i like that girl." she makes me nervous. i like edwards better.

obama, congrats. one half of me is very pleased to see a black man with a name like obama win in a state that is so white. also, i like this guy's platform, idealistically speaking. therefore, there's a part of me that gets a little apprehensive when i think about handing the nomination to obama or even seeing him in the white house. at any rate, i'm pleased that he won. what i really want to see is his platform shift if he wins the democratic nomination. lets's see how centrist he becomes when he's depending on a country full of fence-riders.

as we all know, the iowa caucus isn't the stake through the heart. the past three elections have been a race between the two winners of the iowa caucus, but there are plenty of instances prior to those where people who were beat into the ground in iowa have come back and won the nomination. however, iowa is a pretty good gauge for testing the water. points us in a direction and forces the non-winning candidates to really step it up.

if i could have picked the winners......
DEMS: Barack Obama
REPS: Ron Paul

i think this would be a fun race to watch.

i might start watching the news now.
