go there are listen to "swans". this is my favorite song for the week. i even learned to play it.
it's university day today. i want to walk into the middle of the students and tell them that as soon as the university has their money, they will be marginalized and no one will really care about how things are for you. in fact, you'll get walked all over. get ready for perpetually increasing costs of school. NOT just tuition, but dorm prices (which you have to live in now if you're a freshman), food prices (you have to have a meal plan if your a freshman now), and even parking decals are all increasing in price, some almost doubling.
the university attempts to justify this by pointing to new dorms and dining facilities. but the dorms pay for themselves; at nearly $500/month PER PERSON there is no way the university isn't at least covering their expenses through the sheer use of the dorms. same thing for dining facilities; they're building them, but mandatory meal plans for freshman coupled with increasing prices there is no way that, again, they're aren't at least covering their expences.
but most of all, i want to tell our prospective students and their parents that once they get here, they will have the fortune of enduring the gouging, unethical financial practices of the university administration while simultaneously watching us pay our football coach $4 million dollars a year.
welcome to the university of alabama. i have to give these kids tours of riverside for an hour today to try and recruit. i don't know if i can do it ethicaly. i would literaly rather tell them to go to auburn. i don't know if it's any better down there, but at least i don't have to feel bad about recruiting them to tuscaloosa. i'd pawn that responsibility off on the people in auburn if i could.
on a lighter note:
addison: "god wants you to be an adulterer?"
izzie: "he got a virgin pregnant by magic, he's not exactly playing by the rules here."
