Alright today was my first of many days in which I get to sit at home and do nothing and get paid for. You are proably asking yourself how is trevor accomplishing such extrordinary tasks. Well I feel obligated to let you all learn the key to doing nothing. Have an 11 thousand pound, piece of frame work fall and break your leg. Yes this is the key to obtaining such goals. Well it all happened on friday.......
It was an ordianry Friday I awoke from my peaceful slumber and then fell back to sleep with my beautiful girlfriend. Only to awake again at 6:30 leaving me only an half an hour to get for work and then make the drive to 8 and sherwood. Like i said a normal friday. The day was easy, filled with monotonus tasks, such as hooking up machinery, weighing the machinery and then puting back down where it was. It was all good until after lunch and then it took a turn to the dark side......
A truck arrived at the shop, however something was not right. The truck driver was an idiot(what else is new) and got stuck down at the end of a very large turn around. Finally making it into the shop the loading of the truck began to take place. Being the youngest and the most agile of the people at the place I jumped on the truck to unhook the loads and steady the load as it was being lowered. Well with all the little stuff in place it was time to load the boehemith of framework. The load was hooked with chains and cables(cables were not rated for this amount of weight) and then lifted up into the air by our esteemed crane operator Bill. The load was over the truck and then it was lowered just a little bit. It was at this time that the driver realized that his chains were in the way of the load and when lowered completly on the truck they would be under the piece of frame. Having to stop the load over the truck the driver began to move chains from along side of a truck. Ok i am going to break off for a moment and begin to explain a couple of things to you all. The load going on the truck was 100" wide and the width of a trailer on a semi is 105". Along both sides there are walls that can be removed and these are called side kits. When loading a load a driver removes one side of the side kit and keeps the other side intack. Well with that being said there was only a few inches from the edge of the load suspended in the air and the side of truck. Seeing the truck driver moving chains and just being a nice guy i decided to put myself in that position and help him out. I was between the side of load and the truck just about to pick up the first set of chains when the cable snap brings that edge that was next to the wall of the truck down on the bed and thus pinching me betweeen the two. 11 thousand pounds hit me in the back of my leg and threw me against the side of the truck. I escape this accident with only a broken fibula, sprained ankle, and bruised knee. To say that i was lucky is an understatment. I should have a crushed leg or not even be here. That is a wierd feeling if that would have broke one second later that would have fell on my head. IF that side kit would have given away i would not have a right leg. It is a lot to think about and i am a very lucky boy.
Well since that happened i could not return down to indiana and it was Kim's birthday. I was not going to let a broken leg ruin all of the plans that i had made for her birthday. I made kim and chocolate black forest cake, took her out to dinner at maggianos and then had a surprise party and the troy marriot for her which the closest of her where supposed to show up. Well one couldn't but i thinkt that she enjoyed the evening anyway.
Wow i wrote a lot i seriously doubt anyone actually sat there and read it all, but it is ok no big deal. I know that the spelling is messed up and that would be because of the Tylenol 3's. Well peace out yall
