Well, actually, it came from Wikipedia, sort of. Here, it says:

Chad has a guitar, but it is not known if he plays it. It has been shown in Chad's room in episode 69 and in the 8th anime ending sequence. It's also shown on episode 9 after a "band practice". In the manga, he is seen carrying it immediately preceding the appearance of the incomplete arrancar.

And I was like, "OMG!111!! HE WOULD TOTALLY PLAY FOR THE KITTENSSSSS!"

There's a comical internet RPG called Kingdom of Loathing. In it, one of the selectable character classes is the Turtle Tamer, a strong, defensive class with a affinity for turtles and, one assumes, other small, cute animals. Sounds like Chad to me. :)
