Well I've now got a "proper" job. There was a B2B appointment setter job going where I've been temping the last week & a half. I asked for some info about on Thursday as I was leaving, and on Friday afternoon at the end of a ten minute chat about what the job entailed was asked whether I was still interested in it or not.
I said yes (cos the money and the job's better than being there temping, and it's much better than nothing at all) and I'm now on my probationary period to see if I get on with it.
True, for the next two weeks I'll still be working through the agency at the old rate, but that'll give everyone time to actually get everything that's needed sorted out properly (and give me a fortnight to back out if I end up hating it.
It's not a job I'd ever have applied for, nor would I have ever got through to an interview anywhere else for it anyway as I have absolutely no relevant experience for it. But £13.5K's definitely better than nothing (and better than the other call centre type job that I've been put forward for at £14K in Preston).
If nothing else it give me some money coming in whilst I keep looking for real work - or a foot in the door with a small company that may lead to better things in the future.
So that's that. I'm now back in the world of the working - thrilled to be back, honest
