Good Omens Potential Scenario

So that rattyjol will draw a picture of it.

The armies of Heaven and Hell faced each other. The Heavenly Host was perfectly ordered, rows upon rows of impassive, love-thy-enemy coldness. The swarm of demons had nothing approaching such order, but nor were they fighting each other, which, for demons, was pretty much the same thing. And none passed the invisible line that separated the two armies, a perfect no-man's-zone running parallel into eternity.

In the center of that zone, caught between the extremes, stood two beings, back to back. The angel, dressed in tartan, held a flaming sword and faced his brothers. The demon, dressed in an exquisitely tailored suit, held a tire iron and face his...compatriots.

"Please," pleaded Aziraphale. "Don’t you understand? A battle will destroy everything. No humans will survive. They deserve better than that. Are we not merciful?"

"Don't you see?" argued Crowley. "Fighting would ruin everything. Even if we win, all the humans will be wiped out. There'll be no one left to play with."

“We understand.” The Metatron spoke. “You have developed sympathy for the mortals. But that is not God’s Will. It is the influence of the Serpent of Eden. He will be removed, and you will regain your faith.”

“We sszzzzee,” buzzed Beelzebub. “You have developed zzzympathy for the mortals. Thizz izz the influenzzze of the angel. You will come to your zencezz when he izz dealt with.”

“NO!” Angel and demon cried at once, and pressed more tightly together, each raising their weapons. It was very difficult to shield someone with your wings when they were trying to do the same to you, but somehow they managed.
