...Spending your anniversary evening watching your wedding video. So what if it is sappy? It was also wonderful. And nothing beats having your toddler excited point to the TV and shout "There's daddy!" and "Mommy, mommy!" (even if at first he denied it was us, we looked so different all done up and five years younger). He was especially enraptured when we did our dance with Mickey and Minnie as well.
And, yes, I'm totally the type to tear up watching us repeat our vows together, or laugh merrily at some of the messages left to us by friends and family. ("I liked this wedding better. No one attacking us. And there's cake! Lots of cake!") But there were so many great moments all rolled up there... "Eclipse" singing with Mushu, dancing with my dad, our "bubble" dance, John and Pluto playing chase over the doggybone pillow, and more. It definitely is nice to relive those memories.
It's my hope to make new ones, in five years, when we attempt to drag friends and family back to Disney World to celebrate our tenth anniversary. A much smaller affair, of course, with an emphasis on having a great vacation together, and a 'family' ceremony involving our two boys, but it is still my hope it might happen. And then we get to write all those letters people wrote for us at our wedding and celebration here in MA, too!
(BTW, for those who had asked before, we would love to add letters to our time capsule, scheduled to be opened on our 10th anniversary. So if you want to send us a letter to add for us to open in 5 years, please do so!)
A good evening. And today... rain! But fitting, in some way, for Brigadoons and Pizza.
