anthrocon 2011!

All finally settled back in after AC2011!

As usual the amount of stuff to write about is daunting. I really should get in the habit of sitting down each night at events like this and making a quick daily summary. In fact, considering I should be making journal posts EVERY DAY regardless, this would fit in nice.

As it is, I have to focus on the here and now, so I'm not going to manage a big con report and instead I will simply say that I had an amazing time and it was awesome working with and socializing with the Dorsai, and getting to know many of them better. I hope to have many more opportunities to do so. I also had a great time hanging out with Jen and Matt and getting to know them better, and seeing and hanging with some other friends whom I don't see often!

Now I must strive to further my own work so I can do things like this more often. Things are in a big bind for me right now financially because of a combination of a gap in timing where I'm transitioning from being a subcontractor to being the primary on a contract, which will ultimately work out much better for me once things roll over. In the mean time money is almost nonexistent, which was made worse by having someone get my checking account info and spend the last of my money just before the con, so now what little I did have is tied up in confusion with the bank!

I updated my to-do list tonight, separating everything by client. This was intimidating but important. When I let things float around in my brain things tend to go fuzzy and seem few, far between and fuzzy and thus hard to start on and easy to procrastinate. When I write everything down I realize just how much stuff I have to do, but also how each individual thing is fairly small but manageable. If I can toil through most of this stuff in the next week or two I will be in very good shape indeed for upcoming months.

tomorrow I'm going to try and get up at a decent time and start chiselling away at this list. If you feel like helping me out, if you see me online tomorrow simply ask me what task I'm working on right at that moment. It might remind me to check my list and pick something out!
