Build Your Own Motorcycle Kit

Yesterday I didn't have any immediate like "DO THIS" work, so I was just researching for some google adwords reports for a client. I was also really hyper, so I was having no luck sitting there reading. Instead I just decided to head to the crib and get to work cleaning out the basement!

It went great. I got everything left in the basement boxed up and in my minivan. I finally have NOTHING LEFT in the crib, save stuff in the garage (tools, bikes, and a dresser). The basement is ready for deep cleaning.

Today, the weather is quite nice out, so I decided I'd take advantage of that and work on the bike. I have a lot of cleaning to do, so I figured I could get the hose out while it's in the 50s and spray some shit off. Speaking of which, I really ought to get to that, before it starts to cool down again!

Anyway, I got the swingarm off the bike, the center stand, the kickstand... got the driveshaft/final gear off the swingarm, it's finally down to a bare frame. I'm going to gather a few super grimy things together that need spraying down and do that, then... I HAVE A PLAN:

1) organize all the parts and get them off the workbench
2) disassemble the engine
3) identify all parts that will be painted
4) thoroughly clean and prep those parts
5) paint them!
6) begin re-assembly of the bike, cleaning/repairing anything that needs it on the way, up to the point where the engine goes in
7) re-assemble the engine, repairing and tuning everything as I do
8) mount the engine in the bike
9) bench-sync and otherwise tune and adjust the carbs, then mount them on the bike
10) connect the basics needed for running the engine (choke, throttle, fuel) and test the engine
11) if the engine runs fine, re-assemble the rest of the bike
