Here are some pictures from the first day in europe. We were in Koblenz and we went to a little town square type thing to watch the Germany vs. Ecudor World Cup game. It was very exciting and one of my favorite parts of the trip. Despite the horrible case of Jet Lag that I had, I was able to get really into the game. I think it was a combo of the atmosphere, the intense game, and the cappacino with packets of sugar dumped in that I had.
I met a German couple here, they came and stood near me and they began to talk to me in German. I don't know a word of German but I couldn't find a moment to jut in and tell them that so I just nodded and smiled. They never figured out that I didn't know what they were saying at all. They left at half time and they gave me a deutschland scarf!!!! So the only words I said to them was "ooh! danke!". I love the scarf, and right now it is in my room, it looks great!
