'playful' visitor?
Last night (or early this morning) around 3-ish, I was in that state that is neither sleeping nor waking. I knew I wasn't sleeping, but also that I wasn't quite awake either.
I also knew I wasn't alone in my room. I vividly recall arguing with myself silently I hope about this. I was trying to convince myself that there was no way anyone else could be in the room, even while I knew - knew - with absolute certainty that someone was there, behind me.
In the midst of this inner argument, a voice shouted in my ear "BOO!" Of course I screamed. I turned around and there was nobody there. And then I realized that the voice had yelled in the ear that had been pressed into my pillow, since I was on my side at the time.
It was a freaky dream, a 'playful' spirit, or a sign of my impending break with reality. I think I'll go with freaky dream. Yeah. That's it. Just a dream.
