Okay. Time to try out a few features and see what happens.
I've finally decided to post to a community and have written a suitable drabble. At least, I hope it's suitable.
This seems like a good time to play with the whole lj cut thing.

Mike leaned against the bar and watched the blonde approach. She was a looker, turning heads as she crossed the crowded room, but seemingly unaware of the attention.
He tossed back the last of his drink and made his way over to her as she sat down.
“Hi. This seat taken?”
She looked him over and shrugged, saying nothing.
“I’m Mike. And you are…?”
“Not interested.”
Never one to ignore a challenge, he turned on the Logan charm.
She interrupted him. “Look, nothing personal, okay? I simply prefer women.”
Mike grinned. “There, you see? We have something in common already.”
