howdy everyone!
this is tim, and i just have a lil something to throw out to the community (and if it's not too much trouble, please tell your friends about the fundraiser).
i actually got accepted to do this really neat camp this summer. it's called Camp Footprints (www.campfootprints.com)...and it's a camp for children and adolescents who may be economically disadvantaged, have been put in foster care, or may have disabilities. and it's a volunteering program that has been goin on for about 10 years (the founder of the program is an alumnus of uci, he's a doctor right now...but he started this program when he was a 3rd or 4th year at uci...and it's incredible b/c he freakin raised all of the money with some buddies as an undergrad!)
in any case, camp footprints is having its annual fundraiser/benefit for the camp...and the fundraiser this year is a casino night. so if any of you guys happen to play blackjack, texas hold em, poker, roulette, etc. i totally encourage you guys to come out and play some games!
it's actually going to be held tomorrow (Saturday) evening, at around 8pm, and so i don't know if any of you guys are going to kababayan's pcn, or perhaps you're goin home or you have something else with an organization, etc....but to the people who are going to be in the UCI area on saturday, if you guys could come by emerald bays A-E, that's where the casino nite is going to be at. there's tons of cool raffle prizes and silent auctions items that are donated by several companies, restaurants, and spa/treatment centers.
so once again...
Who: you, silly! and bring friends/room mates/whoever! it's for the kids!
What: Casino Night 2004!! presented by Alpha Epsilon Delta (premed honors society) and Camp Footprints.
When: 8-11pm
Where: Emerald Bays A, B, C, D, and E
How [Much]: we are asking a $5 donation from every person for poker chips...if you don't play poker, you can just give your chips over to the chris moneymakers that you know.

ps...once again guys, please come. i know it costs five dollars, but it's totally worth it, and it's for a great cause, and it'll be even more fun if a bunch of lj'ers go and support the camp. and i'll be sure to tell ya'll on how to apply for the camp next year (there's about 40 counselors every year, and a whole bunch are usually UCI students/UCI med students...great way to network w/ doctors or get great letters of recs!)!! oh yeah, and i'll be dealing from 8-9pm...so i might be able to give you guys an advantage at my table...but shhh, don't tell anyone! ;D
