Why I'm not moving to DW (right now)

I suppose my main problem is that DW is not a good service.  I have serious trouble posting things there and it limits my ability to follow other communities.  I really can't figure it out, because it's a service that was built for fandom.  So why is it so difficult to post my fanworks on it ( Read more... )

I don't have much time for fandom ATM, but I don't know if I want to move over to Dreamwidth. Since I already had an account, I imported my stuff there, but I loved LJ for the community feeling and Dreamwidth doesn't have that. And maybe it will one day, but right now it doesn't seem like it.

Not fun :(

Why do you think DW doesn't have that community feeling? Technically it has the exact same features as LJ

I don't know. Part of it is that the people aren't there yet, or they're still moving over, or they're staying at LJ...

Also, I can't find the Friends feed. Which was the main way I kept track on other people and really everything except for some fests like BB or RBB. EDIT: okay, there is some sort of "Read" option, but that can't be right, because it only shows one entry (and also, they say that feed only goes back two weeks)? ...Actually it looks like that is right, except I need to "Subscribe" to people's journals. Instead of a simple Friend option, there is a difference between granting/having access and subscribing... I don't think LJ had this differentiating, except for communities; and, okay, it probably has some advantages but right now I don't have the time to really go and learn all DW's differences ( ... )

Hm... ok, good point. Not sure what can be done about that at the moment, though, besides tracking two sites.

I've been thinking about how to make this easier. What is the basic thing we'd need for tracking both websites? A joint friend feed?
