Last night I was listening to a music and performing arts 'current events' program.
I just caught the tail-end of an interview with a songwriter who's written quite a few hits in recent years (I vidded
one of his songs, and meant to vid
quite a few others). He was interviewed because he's giving a workshop on songwriting, and he was talking about how he prefers to set aside hours to work and work with a deadline and not wait for a muse.
"If I put paper and a pencil in front of you, and give you an hour to write a song, then after an hour, you're going to have something on the page, right?" said the radio as it glared at me.
I glared back.
Bottom line: I lost the staring contest and went to work on my big bang.
