well i was staring at these moths
running into the wall repeatedly near my light
and i have been watching them all summer
as i sit there and get stoned
i watch these same moths run into the same wall over and over again
everynight
the same
and I always think
why
why do they exist if their only purpose is to run repeatedly and blindly into a wall just to be near a light
why is there any purpose to them that would make them worth existing
so tonight as i watched them
i thought the same questions
then i thought
why must there be a why
why must there always be a "why" for all things
why must humans or any creature have to have a purpose or reason for existing
why must there always be reasons and purposes behind everything
why is "this moth exists, because it does" serve as an answer
why isnt "simple because it is" be acceptable
why must we always ask why
