Rum Punch

With the last port before Christmas being December 23rd, that was essentially my holiday. I had about 4 hours in the afternoon to go out and we found a really nice spot off the beach to grab drinks and enjoy the afternoon. It wasn't very warm out sadly, too cold to swim for sure, but we still sat outside and enjoyed the occasional gift of the sun breaking through the clouds.

Ha, I totally ate lunch at Señor Frog's. SUCH A TOURIST.

Mandy is so adorable.

Pride Wreath!

Just drinking rum punch and hanging by the pool on December 23rd, no big deal guys.

Eat your heart out, Chicagoans.

Merry Christmas!

Santa ain't got nothing on Charlie.

After an afternoon at the beach, I came on board, worked, and then went with my bosses to grab a martini at one of the passenger lounges. Pretty swank down there.

Once on board I was busy busy busy. We had a VIP party, (which is the night I went for the martini with Mike and Bethany). I sold a Miro following the VIP party, go me! There was an auction the next day (Christmas Eve), and a bargain hunters sale the day after (Christmas). Christmas morning was busy with the sale, then we had a dinner break and I ate a terrible salad and some pizza - not an amazing Christmas dinner but we had miss mess times and Mike and Bethany get room service privileges so we ate that. Room service sounds neat, but is actually terrible food. Eating in the messes is usually much better (though lately getting food at the messes has been horrendous, that's another tale I don't want to get into because it's just so frustrating I don't want to even think about it). Anyway, after our Christmas dinner I went to shower. When it was time to go back to the gallery I went all out - put on my red gown and a green scarf to try and maintain some holiday cheer. I was met with blank stares, the rest of the crew has lost any semblance of caring about Christmas, it seems. So after I was done at work for the night, around 10 or 11, I found little to do. Luckily I did drink a glass of scotch with two friends, but then headed to bed fairly surprised that there weren't people celebrating or doing something for Christmas. Oh well; that's ships.
NYE we have an auction, and the next day either an auction or a sale, so my NYE will be much like my Christmas, not so much celebration but plenty of work. And that's just the way of ships, we find other nights to come together and do things. Holidays are our days to serve the people who are out celebrating the holidays.
At least there are days where you drink rum punch in a Santa hat, even if you only find those days once in a while, they're there to get you through.

friends, imonaboat, rum punch, miro, at sea, christmas, park west, art and shit, crew pals
