I read
this article in Ad Age, and have a few questions.
What the fuck is a "whopper freakout"?
Why the fuck does Ad Age say this: The ads are on track to become the best-recalled ads in five years, according to IAG Research, and have about twice the average likability rating, when I had no idea these things existed, have heard no one mention them, have seen no spoofs or parodies, and, after watching a few of the commercials online, not only find them lacking in a "likability rating," but I actively want to kick most of the people's asses. Seriously--the only person in these videos I don't want to hit is this guy:
And the reason that last guy doesn't inspire me to violence is because I find him terrifying. The commercial filmmakers should've followed this guy home to see if there are bodies in his basement--dead red-headed girls with freckles and Pipi Longstocking braids... If I'm ever in Nevada, and have an electricity emergency, I know one fucking place I'm never calling for service:
Seriously, though, when the fuck did these commercials happen? I've never seen them. I am tempted to think that Ad Age is just hyping commercials that don't yet exist, just to see how well we react.
UPDATE:
Seriously. Follow this guy home. Check his basement. Look, here he is in the
Wall Street Journal--LOOK AT HIM! He's a killer!
