How fast time flies when you forget to look at your watch.

So this is a public advice question.

I have plenty of free time as I am still not gainfully employed. I have a choice between taking the Sommelier certification class and being able to sit for the test. The other alternative is to take two of the prep courses before I could go for a Master's Degree in Brewing Science.

Which one do you think is more suitable for a long-term goal?

The Masters in Brewing Science is expensive and almost useless unless I work for a major brewery. The Sommelier's Certificate would (in theory) let me work as one if I chose to. I don't really see me doing that as a career choice, but if the right opportunity comes up.

Any thoughts either way? If you have a decision for one or the other can you also perhaps share why as well? I know the economy is bad and all that--but I'd rather not spend money on another "degree" which has little real world value.

And if you've heard of a job opening, send it my way ;)
