Yeah, it's some serious shit going on. People are getting their accounts hacked and having their entries deleted.

Luckily Mac OSx and Linux systems aren't affected, because the OS doesn't know how to run the file, so I'm safe (although I didn't click any of the links.)

Whoah, thanks for the tip on deleting old email addresses, I had no idea you could hack somebody that way. It's bad for me because I used to share an email address with someone years ago and I saw that old email was still listed :o

Mind if I copy-pasta your warning in my own LJ?

Sure, go ahead.

I'm going to change my password on my LJ account and e-mail, just in case.

Also I didn't know about the e-mail thing either. I was like "Holy shit, dude."

That's annoying. And it's funny 'cause the entry above this is about an MSN virus. I wonder if this is by the same people as the DeviantART one.

Someone has my very first e-mail address, after hotmail deleted it for violating their terms and services. (I guess 'cause I was 11?) I tried to get it back once they released it, but I wasn't quick enough. :(

It's more than just annoying. These people could steal credit card information, and your social security number (for those living in America), along with any thing important you type on your computer... so this is pretty serious.

What was your first e-mail?

I wonder if that's what happened to Aquamyu with all of her things getting hacked. I just assumed that it was someone that she knew.

Why would someone put their social security number online? Do you need it to buy a paid account or something? That seems strange.

My first e-mail was jolteonz@hotmail.com. I miss it. :(

I was thinking the same thing (about Aqua). But it also seemed unlikely because as of now it appears they're only targeting LJ, but who knows. ): I hope she doesn't have the keylogger software on her computer.

h-how do I DELETE old e-mail addresses? ):

There should be a checkbox by each one. Check it, then click "Delete" somewhere under the list of e-mail addresses.
