Apples to Apples on Ben Yehuda

Jul 25, 2005 05:06

After the fast last night, met whatsurtyc and Tova in town for round bread-type-things1 with cream cheese and lox. Because there is no other acceptable way to break a fast than on cream cheese and lox.

Then we went to my apartment and tried to remember the lyrics to a bunch of Weird Al songs. We wanted to play Apples to Apples2, but there were only three of us, which is not quite enough.

So guess what!

We went back to town and whatsurtyc got random strangers to play with us! Including two Norweigan guys who kept winning, despite the fact that two-thirds of the cards in the game are references to American history or American pop culture. It was crazy.

Also, we got pecan pie.

1. They were not bagels!
2. This is not a Jewish thing (except for the fact that it's an excellect game to play on Shabbat afternoons, so that's sort of Jewish), but not everyone knows what Apples to Apples is--that's the reason I linked it.
