A well fortified mind is the key here. When we spend our times immersed in texts and scrolls, once nust also keep in mind that there is other Arcana to be digested. Remember, we were once our kine, study them, their history, their present. If rituals and blood magics are the bulk of what's on your mind, then one must look into what's holding the building together. Amusing fluff like "Hop on Saulot", Malkav's "My Sire Was A Top Hat In Leather Sandal Times" or Brujah's "Fists of Meaning" will only leave you empty. Turn on the TV, watch the CNN, go to a mall at night and watch the kids in the Hot Topic. These larvescent humans know nothing of goth and could rarely be mistaken for us, despite their pale and wan posturing. The unlife is obvious from how worn we all look compared to them. While the goth kids queue up to their McDonald's and order their happy meals, a famished Nosferatu will always be outside waiting near the dumpster, ready for a pimply teenaged snack. We are decay, the sundering of the light. These kids are only in it for the game. They'll soon grow up and become suburbanites, just like their parents. If any of them should be sired, they'll most likely never admit to having ever dressed like that.
As for those of our kind that dress in old victorian lace. Despair, for they are sad and lost. We must all make and effort to take these anachronisms kicking and screaming into this era. Even if it means modern day anachronisms like leg warmers and mullets. But at least those don't grab the same kind of attention as velvet waistcoats and ruffled doily shirts do...
and that's a good thing.
