Descent Into Hell, Day 1

Nov 13, 2004 08:51

So, getting up before 6AM to work for several hours, to hand load boxes of books into the Big, Scary SUV (tm) to drive for three hours through freezing rain and snow, so I could wait for two hours for the tournament director to show, so I could find out where I'm supposed to set up.
No help setting up (which I was supposed to have), not enough tables (not rectified until this morning), and annoying chess players trying to scam me for discounts...yeah, right.
But, the show room is nice.
The hotel room is nice. Free broadband off a T1. Wi-fi capability too.

Made some money.

No cute chicks, and old, fat, smelly chess players do not eye-candy make.

At least I have coffee.
