Evening, Post-Mallos

::strides into the Observation Lounge angrily, upping lighting and only barely slowing as the shadows dissipate to reveal jonathan_archer staring out the viewport::

::pauses inches behind him, nails digging into palms as fists ball at sides::

We've left her behind.

::feels heat from Linnis as stops just behind, keeps staring forward as Linnis speaks::

...

::hoarsely, barely audible::

::stares at him::

I don't care how sorry you are. She's my daughter, damn it!

You don't find people by warping away in the opposite direction! You don't find innocents by chasing after...

::bites remark back, instead moving to standing directly by his side, turning to face him completely::

We aren't going to save anyone who wants to be saved by being here.

::half-blinks, raises eyes slowly to meet Linnis' gaze::

::exhales, shaking head::

I don't know.

::crosses arms, moving gaze to look out at stars::

I tried with him. I've tried and tried. We all have.

You can't tell me it's fair that we risk leaving a child in enemy hands for him when he hasn't even tried.
