The message puts a bright but fleeting smile on his face. It's bittersweet to receive well wishes from afar. It makes her absence felt more keenly.

The response is brief but heartfelt. "And to you, my dear."

"Next time we see each other I owe you pumpkin pie." Her pumpkin pie was pretty fantastic if she did say so herself.

Pike, on the other hand, doesn't do holidays. He does paperwork in his quarters. The rest of the crew is welcome to celebrate though.
