[She gives Daniela a little smile, then makes a grab for her forceps before peeling back a charred section of the Yeoman's sleeve. Minor explosions are not exactly her favourite thing in the world, it must be said.]
[She winces a little as the air hits her skin.] I don't know why Starfleet still uses so much wiring in their consoles. With the technology, the amount could be cut in half and there'd be less of a fire hazard.
Yeah, but I dunno, maybe it's cheaper this way, or something. Though you'd think with all the consoles they need to replace, that would end up costing more.
[She wants to see how it's coming, but at the same time she doesn't want to look if it's really gross, so she looks elsewhere around the med bay.]
Yeah, sure. [She pauses.] It's just... I hope there's no clothing fibers sticking in my wound. That'd be so gross. And the skin's all... [She sucked in a breath.] Ew, it's just bad. I could never be a nurse.
Oh, sweetie... [It sounds like a fond sort of amusement, quietly kept in control, as she gives Daniela's leg another squeeze.] I've got it just about all cleaned now. It'll be fine after a few passes with the dermal.
Don't worry about it, Dan. I've gotcha. [She gives it another moment, just for Daniela to relax, before she steps away for the dermal, returning to gently press it to her skin.]
So I won't have a scar, right? I think I heard somewhere that dermal regenerators can erase scars. That's what that is right? [She risks a glance at the tool, then looks away quickly. Ew, gross.]
Well that's good. Not that all scars are bad, I mean. A lot have interesting stories behind them, just not mine. Like, "Oh, burned by a console explosion? You and five hundred other people." Not that I really want a scar... I'm not explaining this well, am I?
