Yep, I remember learning that, too. Higher education teaches you to love caffeinated beverages. Don't tell your father I'm endorsing them, though. Technically, I'm not supposed to.

Uh-huh, my lips are sealed. (chuckles) I try'n avoid them as much as I can. I've always been kind'fa night owl anyway.

Good. I never slept well, so I was always tired. Trying to remember a hundred-odd alien diseases on two hours of sleep a night for over a week isn't exactly an experience I recommend.

So looking forward to doin' all of that soon. I hate when I get all restless'n can't concentrate, no matter where I am, library, outside, in my room.

Ugh, that most definitely sucks. What have you been doing to let off steam?

Drinkin'. Eh, goin' for runs, mostly, swimmin'.

Oh, good. Physical activity's a useful counter to stress. Which reminds me, have you tried the yoga set I sent you last Christmas yet?

Oh man, yes I have! I finally managed to get this one position. I mean, I hafta lean against the wall to keep my feet in th'air but I got it.

[laughs] So long as you're trying, I'm happy.

So, got yourself a romantic interest yet, Jo?

(bursts out laughing) Nah, got no time for one right now. Eh, maybe later.

Smart girl. They're distracting. But you know me, I'm a gossip, so I had to ask.

Believe me, my pop'd find out if I had one, wherever he was.

He does excel in the protective father category. Actually, funny story, the other week he was on an away team, and someone planetside was being inappropriate with a young girl from Engineering, so he stepped in and did the act he usually does around you on the guy. According to her, it was both endearing and intimidating.

(another burst of laughter) Ha! I would've loved to see that from a different perspective, to be honest. Endearin' an' intimidatin' are the right words.
