[The young girl looked up, hood of her thin hoodie pulled up and over her head. Whoever said it couldn't get cold in the deep South was lying.]
...Hi.
[Yeah the other person looked familiar but she didn't know who it was. Lets face it, it had been a while since Tonia had been allowed to go to Louisiana or talk to her old friends. Memories got fuzzy fast.]
Just out of curiosity, have you ever spent a summer at Oak Alley?
[She's rolling on a hunch, sure, but this girl looks like she could use a friend. Heck, she already looks enough like an old friend. So Chris figures it counts.]
[That got the girl to sitting up right pretty fast. It was a pretty popular summer camp when her grandma had been able to help run it. Now it was mostly just family that spend the summers there with her.]
[has been glancing occasionally at the frozen-looking, terminally underdressed girl for a while now - eventually makes up his mind and asks;] Y'alright there, love?
[San Francisco was cold. For some reason Tonia had always thought it would have been warm, and it wasn't like she had exactly packed a lot of her cloths when she had run. Looking up the younger girl wearing a thin hoodie shivered as she looked up at the older man.]
[Tonia shivered a little more as another cold breeze shifted through the street causing her to nearly draw her legs up to her chest. Warmth was going to be nice soon if she just could remember where she could pass a fake ID to get a room at.]
[Who would have thought California could get cold? Apparently it could which was why Tonia was huddled on a bench in a thin hoodie, no jacket, with the hood up trying to stay warm. There hadn't been much time to grab anything warmer and what she had in her duffle was it. When the Starfleet officer spoke to her she jumped a little, looking up and thankful the hood was helping to slightly hide the black eye she was sporting.]
[Shivering again the younger kid pulled her hands up in to her sleeves trying to get warmth back in to her fingers. If only she could remember a place in town she could easily pass a fake ID and get a room just to warm up at... Right now she was drawing a blank.]
*He's trying, really hard, to get over his fear of transporters here whilst trying to get away from a few things. He spots her and, with a frown, shrugs off his jacket to hold out towards her.*
[Georgia was one of the few places she figured her dad wouldn't have even guessed she would have fled there. So there she sat in the cold night hoping that the older kid would show up. Her thin hoodie wasn't cut out for the Southern winters. Drawing her hands inside the sleeves as her teeth chattered against each other she almost missed Leo's voice when he spoke to her. The girl nearly jumped slightly turning her face hidden in the hood of her cloths feeling a rush of relief.]
Leo.. I was almost afraid.. Look I'm sorry to ask you do to this. I just can't stay there..
[Melting in to the warmth of the coat, her teeth wouldn't stop chattering together. It was so fucking cold that it felt like her bones were iced over. Tugging the jacket about her a little more she stepped in closer to Leo. Him being the only person she felt the safest around at the given moment.]
I have enough credits I can get a room somewhere if I have to. Y-your dad won't call the cops will he?
[Green eyes looked wide up at him like a startled filly ready to flee again if she had to. There was no way in hell she was going back to Montana.]

*He stepped closer, moving to wrap the jacket around her. Of course he would show up; there was little he wouldn't do for his friend.*
