Maths is a tool; you use it t'get the job done and don't worry about the whys and wherefores. Pure maths is a waste of time.

I'm inclined to agree; never liked the subject much when I was in school. Found it to be a whole lot of useless information. Probably explains why it's one of Spock's pasttimes.
