I would not expect it of you, Captain.

Some would consider you so, but you are really only a few years younger than myself.

...the requests of Leonard and my father.

*laughs, just a little* Oh, wow, I have no idea how to go about answering that one...

It seems it is a difficult subject for everyone.

I think it just depends on the person and the situation. But when you're ready, you just...you just know it, I guess. Though in all honesty? I don't think anyone's really ever ready for it. You might think you are up until the point you've actually got a kid, and then your whole world changes. And who's ever really ready for that kind of shift?

Leonard seems to be. Myself, not even with the idea.

Being pregnant?

That is not an applicable situation in this case.

Yeah well... how could anyone really be ready for that? I think it's better to just admit to not being ready... the ones who think they are usually end up being the worst. Thinking about adoption sir?

Surrogacy. It is necessary to help my people repopulate.

You will know when you are ready for children and sometimes you are ready even if you think yourself not.

Nothing. You're never really ready for children, no matter what you think. You become ready with them.

*...you look familiar* You sound as if you speak from experience, sir.

I do. I have a daughter myself.

I see.

Still, would you not say there is some point between not being ready at all and being braced, at least, for the change?
