First off, Mom's eye surgery went well. No problems. She's in good spirits and was only slightly loopy on the car ride home. I just put her to bed (can hear her snoring already). When she looked in the mirror, we had a really good laugh over her pupil. It's REALLY dilated and she looks like Puss-In Boots! She has a follow up tomorrow morning and the surgery for the other cataract in three weeks.
I've been listening to a Torchwood book on tape read by Burn Gorman. I was nearly asleep last night as I listened and thought, "Wow. This guy's good. He sounds just like Owen." *pause* "Oh... it IS Owen..." In my mostly asleep brain's defense, a majority of the characters in the story are Welsh and thusly do not sound like Owen. It was a moment of lucid stupidity.
I had a dream a few nights ago that I visited Audiemay's college and it had a movie theater that was showing Nightmare Before Christmas 2 (dear God, no!). I was really impressed with her classmates. They all dressed up. Cool! I wanted to get some frozen yogurt (yes the theater had frozen yogurt!) I was in line behind a guy who only spoke Chinese and the guy working the counter was a recent immigrant form Turkey so there was a major communication problem and I ended up being late to the movie. It turned out to be really crap though because they were using the same stop motion puppets from 10 years ago and Tim Burton wasn't involved. Then I woke up.
Last night, I had a dream that Grandma was hording Walker shortbread cookies in a (non-existent) closet in her apartment. An when I say hording, I mean she had the whole top shelf stuffed with cookies. I was going to sneak some out when I looked at the expiration date... 2004?! Eww! And then I woke up.
I got some socks yesterday (on sale!!) and came home to discover that the four-pack was not a package of four pairs of different patterned socks, but a pack of four individual socks with different patterns that were intended for "mix and match." Oh, Hell no. Left early for school so I could buy another pack so I would have four PAIR not four socks. Damn, you (undiagnosed) OCD!! SOCKS MUST MATCH!!
Was still early, so I swung by the financial aid office. I had to bring in a form anyway. Waited for ten minutes and was finally helped. The guy helping me was also trying to help his co-worker (a newbie) with another person. Fifteen minutes later, he finished up with me and told me that I won't get any financial aid after the winter 2011 quarter because I have too many credits. WTF? Oh, well. He said I can petition. I might transfer to a different school by then anyway.
So, I ended up ten minutes late for Photoshop with Señor Lupus (who was back to her happy-slappy tangential self). I told her I had been trapped in financial aid and it was no problem. After a 20 minute tangent about Andy Warhol, we got the requirements for our midterm. No internet pictures. Fair enough. That just meant I couldn't do any work on it in class because my external hard drive with all my pictures were at home. Instead, I just worked on my Flash midterm. I finished that up about two thirds of the way through Flash class. That's that finished... a week early. Hey, that'll give me a chance to catch up on my reading... or maybe learn more stuff she didn't teach us. I used the book today and it was VERY helpful. Much more so than Señora Lupus.
PS. Fox passed on a US version of Torchwood! Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it RTD! Maybe this will knock you off your high horse!
