The Return and The Fall

I'm back at uni now.  The flight was uneventful, thank goodness.  Classes start on Tuesday.

I saw War Horse last week.  I liked it.  It gave me a lot of feelings, but I did like it.  I've not the greatest movie ever made, but I like horses a lot and it was entertaining.  I laughed through the entirety of Benedict Cumberbatch's first scene.  I cannot take that mustache seriously.  I've described War Horse to people as "Black Beauty except it's WWI."  It increased my desire to see the stage play.  I would give so much to be in that show.  Even if I had to be a horse's ass.  ;)  (I'd probably have to be the barbed wire or Baby Joey or maybe a horse's head.  I'm not strong enough to be a butt "hind.")

The last episode of Sherlock series two is tomorrow.  The Reichenbach Fall.  I know what happens and I know it will be well done, but I've never more emotionally invested in and less prepared for an episode of a TV show.  I foresee much weeping and eating of junk food.  Not the best way to deal with it, but oh well.  I think I'm going to run out and get a chocolate shake before the episode starts.

I've been reading the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik and I just love it!  Napoleonic wars with sentient, English-speaking dragons?  What could be better than that?!  You should try them.  I was skeptical at first, but I really, really like them.  She put a lot of thought into the world they take place in and it shows.
