Hamster on the Edge

Oooh, I whipped trough a goodly chunk of Richard Hammond's book.  It's very good!  Poor guy.

The  first thing he said to his poor wife Mindy (when he was still really out of it) was "gearbox."  And she said, "No, it was the master cylinder."  And he said, "Oh, OK." and went back to being comatose.

It's a really intense book.  I'm so glad he recovers in the end.

I did notice some parallels between Richard and Grandma.  I know Grandma will never get better, but Mindy discusses how Richard could hold himself together for short period of time and seem perfectly normal.  I got all excited!  GRANDMA DOES THAT!  I thought she was the only one and no one would ever know what it was like to have people tell you that your messed up family member "seems fine to me."    SOMEONE ELSE KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE!  THANK GOODNESS!!!!

I'm thinking of writing them a letter...

grandma, top gear, books
