I was going to post a big long rant about people getting trampled over "doorbuster" specials, and the ridiculous nature of the yearly "Christmas wars". But then I decided not to bother.
What's really important about the holidays is who you spend it with, not what you spend it on. Take time to visit friends and family, and delight in the memories instead of the gifts. You never know who isn't going to be around next December to laugh with.
And on that tear-inducing note, I wish all my family (including my friends--my family of the heart) a safe, joyous and happy winter holiday. When you strip away all the trappings and dogma, we're all really celebrating the same thing: peace, love, joy, and hope.
