NaBloPoMo #6 - Eric & Leyann's Adventures in Wedding Planning
Next week, it will be three months since Leyann and I got engaged (I paid off the ring earlier this week). I don't think I really mentioned what our initial plans for the wedding were publicly on this blog. It was a fairly simple decision in terms of how and the initial plan. In fact, Leyann's mom, Caryn came up with the idea. So, sometime next fall, Leyann and I will be getting married in...
LAS VEGAS!!!!
It's going to be small, really small... in fact, just Leyann and I, her parents, my parents and my brother and sister. Why are we doing it this way? Because it will be fun, a family bonding event and we won't have to deal with all the crazy planning and 400+ people. And... it's crazy enough... it fits who we are. This will NOT be some Elvis, hunka hunka burning love wedding. It won't be a drive up temple or some crazy thing. We are going to find a nice chapel, with a nice setting, one that record the wedding for dvd, and little extras like that.
We are going to do this how WE want it, end of story.
So where does this leave our cherished friends and family? Why the reception of course! We figure we can have a big reception where people can come to give gifts, watch the ceremony on the dvd, get copies of said dvd, take pictures, eat good food, AND JUST HAVE FUN.
Once we finalize more details, it will be posted.
